The very nature of the halfling project means a high level of involvement from children and teenagers. Much of this may be within groups or at locations such as schools or within organisations which have their own child protection measures and procedures.
However one area where this is not the case is in meetings with William David on photoshoots for example where it may be a solo shoot .
The purpose of this page is to clarify the policy and safeguards of the project in this regard.
Introduction:- William David & The halfling project campaigns for child safety and protection so it is obvious that the project must maintain high standards in this regard. The project must at all times take into account the best interests of the child and also any conditions affecting that child.
A child for the purpose of this document is aged 5-16 [although in regard to photo shoots those under 18 should have parental consent/attendance.]
The policy in arranging any photoshoot of those under 18 is through a parental representative. Direct contact with a child is not encouraged on for example social media or my private e.mail. Any communication/contact with a child by William David will always be with the knowledge and agreement of authorised adult, who should witness and attend meetings / contact with their children.
In the case of young performers parental consent may come via an agent or agreed representative. This may also be the case with Groups and Organisations where a leader or teacher may act as loco parentis. The content and scenarios of any photoshoot will be discussed with the parent and only if the parent [s] and the child is happy will any shoot take place.
As regards interviews, conversation and mentoring - these will be carefully controlled with the interests of the child paramount at all times.
